About Me

      About me:

Hello! My name is Caitlin Smith, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to my blog. I’ve been teaching in the primary grades for seven wonderful years, and I’m especially excited to embark on another great year with my first graders here in sunny Florida. Teaching has always been my passion, and I love sharing my thoughts, experiences, and the joy of learning with others.

I’m happily married to my amazing husband of eight years, and together, we have a lively household with three cats and one dog. Our home is always full of love and a little bit of chaos, which I wouldn’t trade for anything!

My favorite subjects to teach are Math and Science, with a special love for Geology and Astronomy. I’m fascinated by the wonders of our planet and the universe, and I strive to bring that excitement into my classroom every day.

  Education:
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph’s University in New York, where I majored in child study (General & Special Education from birth to age 12) with a double major in speech and communications. My journey in education didn’t stop there, I went on to earn my master’s degree in elementary education from American College of Education.

     Interests:

When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll likely find me enjoying some of my favorite hobbies. I love playing tennis, hiking, and spending time at the beach. Traveling is another passion of mine, I’m always up for a new adventure! I’m also an avid collector and reader, with a particular interest in rock collecting and stargazing. When I’m at home, I enjoy cooking, knitting, crafting, and indulging in my love for theater.
